Income without NAV-erosion traps

Dividend payers yielding 4 % or more with solid Dividend Safety; hard red flags, cut-risk and payout warnings left out; closed-end funds and BDCs only as a small capped satellite.

This model is the same for every visitor and built by the published rule below. It is general research, not personal advice and not an assessment of your situation.

Many US closed-end funds and some US funds have no KID, so EU retail investors cannot buy them; the EU column says which.

The rule

Exactly what the job applies at each rebalance.

  1. Universe: Stock, REIT, ETF, Closed-end fund, BDC — any country except Russia (it has its own model).
  2. Filters: Dividend yield ≥ 4 %; Dividend Safety ≥ 60.
  3. Always left out: any hard red flag, low-confidence scores, ratings not yet in the public rating log and prices older than 10 days. Also left out: Dividend cut risk, Payout above earnings, Unverified dividend.
  4. Order: Smart Score (income), Dividend Safety; on a tie, the larger company first.
  5. The top 25 in that order, one share line per issuer, equal weight; at most 5 % per holding and 25 % per sector — weight the caps leave over is held as cash.
  6. Closed-end fund, BDC: a satellite of at most 10 % in total and 2 % each.
  7. A holding stays while it is still eligible and ranks within the top 38; the model is published only with at least 15 holdings.
  8. Rebalanced on the first business day on or after the 15th of each month, and at once when a rule changes.
